Polypropylene (PP) Lined Tin Tie Paper Coffee Bags

The most common or standard liner for multiwall food grade bags / coffee tin tie bag is polypropylene film which is not surprisingly a lower cost option than PLA or Glassine options. The PP lined paper coffee tin tie bags works well for most applications such as packaging for coffee candy cookies or dry mixes. Polyactide (PLA) Lined Paper Coffee Bags with Tin Tie

Paper Tin Tie Bags are environmentally friendly and compostable if made with PLA Lining which is a corn based polymer. PLA Liners are a natural renewable resource and very popular with the environmental market. This PLA liner is a dense film, giving it a lower yield per pound but this results in a highly grease resistant and puncture resistant multiwall bag. The PLA film liner is a breathable film so it’s is not rated well in terms of it’s Water Vapor Transmission Rate or barrier properties to moisture and or oxygen. PLA is heat sealable, and compostable but not yet recyclable. It is (relative to PP) a more expensive film liner but has the compostable environmental benefit not possible with PP.

Glassine Lined Paper Coffee Bags with Tin Tie

Glassine Coffee Bags with Tin Ties are duplex bags using Natural Kraft Paper on the exterior and Glassine Lined Paper on the interior. Glassine is a highly polished sheet of paper (similar to waxed paper) that appears translucent with very good grease resistant properties. Glassine is used commonly for cookies, candy, tea, coffee and some industrial applications of holding oily or greasy parts. Glassine Tin Tie Coffee Bags are completely biodegradable, recyclable, and compostable so are a great green alternative to standard Poly lined Coffee Bags.
