New accelerated breakdown features can be added to the bags: A unique additive can be added to the plastic bags to accelerate the decomposition of the material. Bags will maintain its standard shelf life until exposed to microbial environments like soil and bacteria where it can take approximately 9 months to 5 years to breakdown both aerobically and anaerobically - speed of decomposition may vary depending on its environment.
