If so, maybe at one point or another you thought to yourself, \u201c<\/strong><\/span>Self, wouldn\u2019t it make sense to custom print our paper coffee cups so our customers can advertise our business for us when they\u2019re walking around town or back at their office?\u201d<\/i><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

But then you thought, <\/span>\u201cThat\u2019s a great idea. But where do I even start? What are my options? What are minimums? What\u2019s it gonna cost?\u201d<\/i><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Those are not uncommon questions. So, let\u2019s try to tackle them so we can clear away any confusion and help you decide what\u2019s the best option for you. <\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s look at each option you have available when it comes to branding and custom printing your paper coffee cups<\/a><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why don\u2019t we \u00a0start with the simplest and work our way up from there. That said, let\u2019s talk about\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Coffee Cup Sleeves<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

Custom printed coffee cups sleeves are a great option for so many reasons. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"3<\/span><\/center>Of all the options we\u2019ll discuss, coffee sleeves have the lowest minimums at 4,500 sleeves. And those low min\u2019s coupled with the fact that they store flat, means that this option requires the least amount of storage space in your business. <\/span><\/p>\n

Another great aspect of coffee sleeves is that our standard sleeve can usually fit numerous sizes of cups such as the 12, 16, and 20 oz cups. So you don\u2019t have to keep several different sizes on hand for each size cup you offer. <\/span><\/p>\n

Now, I\u2019m guessing pricing is something you\u2019re also curious about. The two big drivers behind pricing for coffee sleeves is the number of colors in your artwork\/logo and whether we\u2019re custom printing on 1 side or 2 sides of the sleeve. Having said that, for custom printed sleeves we could be looking at an investment of $0.09 – $0.15 per sleeve.<\/span><\/p>\n

Turnaround time on coffee sleeves is also very quick – usually in the neighborhood of only 2-3 weeks. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sound good? Now let\u2019s move on to custom printed cups themselves. <\/span><\/p>\n

Double Insulated \u201cGroove\u201d Cups<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

OK, first things first, you might be wondering what does \u201cdouble insulated\u201d mean.<\/span><\/p>\n

A double insulated cup is just a fancy industry term for saying that the paper\u00a0coffee cup and sleeve are combined. So, it\u2019s a cup that\u2019s manufactured with a larger sleeve already glued around the cup. <\/span><\/p>\n

Here’s an example\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

\"ripple<\/span><\/center>And while we\u2019re at it\u2026 the word \u201cGroove\u201d is referencing the ridges in that exterior sleeve. <\/span><\/p>\n

The purpose of those grooves is to get separation from the cup wall and allow air flow. You see, if the sleeve and cup wall we\u2019re completely flush against each other, heat transfer would be greatly increased. But with separation and air flow, your hand stays cool. <\/span><\/p>\n

Anyways, let\u2019s get back on track. <\/span><\/p>\n

For a custom printed double insulated coffee cup, this particular \u201cGroove\u201d style offers the lowest minimum on the market at 10,000 cups per size.\u00a0<\/span>So, if you\u2019re looking at 2 or 3 different sizes, that\u2019s 20,000 and 30,000 cups, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

Which of course brings up the topic of storage space. Obviously the storage space you have available is going to play a key role in whether this option is viable or not. <\/span><\/p>\n

Now, what are the advantages of this option? <\/span><\/p>\n

Well, for starters, no sleeve is necessary. It\u2019s already combined, remember?<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, pricing-wise, you get the same great pricing whether your artwork has one or multiple colors. Likewise, we can print on one side or all over the entire cup and your pricing won\u2019t increase. <\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking of pricing, the only determinant is the size of the cup. So, with cup sizes that include 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20 oz, pricing will range from $0.15 per cup to around $0.25 per cup. <\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, it\u2019s probably safe to say that the lead time on these types of custom printed cups is roughly 6 weeks from the time your artwork is approved. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ripple Wrap and Planet + Cups<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

And last but not least, moving from the \u201cGroove\u201d cup, there are two additional brand name double insulated cups: the Ripple Wrap<\/a> (left in the image) and Planet+ cups<\/a> (on the right).<\/span><\/p>\n

\"2016-01-14_1227\"<\/span><\/center>While a lot of what I mentioned in the previous section will also apply to these 2 cups, one primary difference is that the minimum quantity you need to order jumps up to 25,000 cups per size for the Ripple Wrap and 50,000 cups for the Planet+ cups. <\/span><\/p>\n

Other noteworthy differences are that the Planet+ cups are 100% fully compostable. So, if being environmentally conscious is a major theme to your business, this may be the option for you. <\/span><\/p>\n

The major bonus for the Ripple Wrap cups has to be it’s super thick corrugated paper and deep ripples. These cups are such\u00a0a pleasure to hold and keep your hands as cool as the other side of the pillow. <\/span><\/p>\n

Available sizes include 8, 12, 16 and 20 oz. And because you\u2019re probably curious, pricing ranges from $0.13 to $0.23 per cup, depending on the size. <\/span><\/p>\n
