Q: This may seem like a silly question, but does a 9" pie fit in this box?

A: Not a silly question at all. Pie boxes best fit pies that are 1" smaller to account for crust up to 1/2" thick. Here is a suggestion #XFS10102B-261

Q: does a 9 inch box fit a 9 in pie? Didn't know if the box should be bigger than the pie.

A: It is recommended that if you have a 9" pie, you should allow room on all sides to account for crust and pie plate overflow. XFS10102B-261 which is the 10" size would be a good choice.
