Customers Want Their Food to be Safe
A 2019 survey by US Foods revealed that 1 in 4 delivery drivers admitted that they actually took food from an order, and 54% admitted that they were tempted by the smell of the food the deliver. Furthermore, on a scale 1 to 10 (10 being "Absolutely Unacceptable") - food deliver service customers averaged an 8.4 in their response to "If you ordered a burger and fries, and the deliverer grabbed a few fries along the way, how upset would you be? So clearly, protecting food during delivery is something your customers are concerned about - and tamper evident packaging helps alleviate some of the those concerns.
Tamper Evident Adhesive seal
On the end of the top flap of the box - there is an adhesive seal with a covering that reads "TO EXPOSE ADHESIVE REMOVE LINER." Removing this seal reveals the adhesive part of the top play. This is folded over the front side of the box, and adheres securely once you press on it. It will not come off without damaging the paper on the front of the box.
Easy Open Pull Tabs
Above the adhesive seal, there are some perforated pull tabs on the sides of the container. These tabs are part of a reinforced strip that tears across the entire front of the box - releasing the top flap and providing evidence that the box has been opened. "Pull to open" is printed on the tabs for clear instructions.
Window for Checking Contents
Once these containers are sealed and ready for delivery, you cannot get into them without tearing the container apart - which would be a huge problem if you didn't mark it or forgot what was inside. Luckily, these to go boxes have a top flap that reveals a window so that you can see inside - which is a big help for order accuracy.
